Yushan Socola

Yushan Socola, an artist and educator based in Rochester, NY, explores the intricate connections between self and everyday objects, infusing her classroom with children-inspired elements. She creates dynamic learning experiences that empower students to express their creativity and develop critical social-emotional skills. Committed to art’s power to bridge cultural divides, Yushan enriches students’ lives with lessons that extend beyond traditional art education.

Yushan explores religion, gender, nostalgia, and emotions in her paintings.

Her painting was selected to represent MCC in the league for innovation competition in 2020. One of her recent drawings is hanging on display at the RIT wellness center. While completing her senior year at RIT, Yushan also works as a private art teacher and teaches classes of her own curriculum. Theory of art in inspired by nature at the Henrietta community center 2022, the first of it’s kind offered at the center.
